Can I Bring Food & Drinks?
- You are more than welcome to bring nut free snacks and drinks leak proof containers. Please be advised that there is no fridge on the premises. Don't worry about the clean-up or the mess!
Can Parents Stay For Parties?
- Other than the party parents (the birthday child’s parents), we kindly ask that all other guests be dropped off. Our space is cozy, and keeping the group small helps us avoid distractions and run a smooth, fun event for the kids. If your child is under 4 and needs a parent to stay, that’s absolutely okay! For everyone else, there are lots of great spots nearby—coffee shops, restaurants, malls, and more—to enjoy while you wait. Thanks so much for your understanding!
What Should I Wear?
- All participants are strongly advised to wear clothes that does not have any sentimental value. There are no aprons available for students. Shoes are mandatory.
When Will My Project Be Ready For Pick Up?
- Face Sculptures will be left at the studio to be baked and attached to the Board & Canvas. You will be contacted for pick-up within 72 hours. Any projects left at the studio after a 3 month period will be donated. The Party parent will pick up all of the Canvases to be distributed to the Party guests.
Can Every Child Create What They Want?
- To create a special and memorable piece for the Birthday Guest of Honour, each child will sculpt two versions of their own face. This helps keep the final artwork organized and cohesive. While we encourage creative expression—like adding fun accessories—please note that adding full bodies or extra elements may result in those parts being reused or adjusted to fit on the wooden board. Clay & Canvas does not distribute separate creations, as they are delicate and can break easily.
Where Can Party Parents Park?
- There is meter and street parking in the front of the store. There is one spot directly behind the studio. Any additional vehicles parked in the back or side parking lot is subject to be towed at your own expense.
What If I am going to be late?
- We recommend arriving on time and requesting guests arrive on time so you don't miss out on important instructions. Please inform us via phone or email if you are going to be late. If you arrive late, please be courteous to the instructor and participants and we will get you caught up. After 30 minutes, you will be considered a no-show and will be rebooked at your own expense.
I Need To Reschedule, What Do I Do?
- If you need to reschedule for any reason, please let us know no more than 1 hour prior to your scheduled event or appointment so we can reschedule. No-shows will not be given a refund or an opportunity to reschedule.
I need to cancel my booked party, can I get a refund?
- Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for cancelled parties, as materials are purchased in advance to prepare for your event. However, you may be eligible for a credit that can be used toward another party, day camp, class or workshop. PLease read our Reschedule Policy to see if you are eligible for a rescheduling opportunity. We understand that cancellations can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please ensure you have read all of our policies carefully to make sure that Clay & Canvas is the right fit for you and your guests. Understanding our guidelines helps us create a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests and instructors!
How Many Guests Do I Book For My Party?
- If you are unsure about the number of confirmed guests attending your party, book for the minimum number of guests that are confirmed. When you know how many guests are attending, please let us know to ensure there is enough prepared materials for the day.
What Happens If I Go Over My Party Time?
- We give a 15 minute grace period for every party. Due to having other bookings, we will charge an additional $50 after the 15 minute grace period. This will be paid in store or you will be sent an invoice. Any unpaid bills may result in the withholding of your creations.
Can I Bring My Own Materials?
- Clay & Canvas provides all the materials you’ll need, so there’s no need to bring anything—but if you’d like to bring extra craft items like glitter, foil, or other fun materials, you’re more than welcome to! If you're thinking of bringing your own materials, please contact us first as we may have the materials in the studio.
What Materials Are Supplied?
- Clay & Canvas supplies everything you need for your Buddy Board experience, including the wooden canvas, as well as Polymer Clay, glitter and paint. If you’d like to upsize your wooden canvas or ornament canvas, just let us know in advance—please note that an additional charge may apply.
Is the Studio Accessible to People With Disabilities?
- Yes, our studio is designed to be accessible to everyone. If you need any additional accommodations, please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements for you. If you or your guests need an Aide Worker, please let us know!
Is the Studio a Safe Space?
- Yes, our studio is a safe and inclusive space where everyone is respected and valued. We strive to create an environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and support. Disrespectful behaviour such as violence, bullying, racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, misogyny or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated and you will be asked to leave.
What to expect:
Each Guest will create two polymer clay portraits of themselves. One of those self portraits will be given to the Guest of Honour to be placed on a stunning wooden canvas. The other sculpted self portrait will be placed on a mini canvas with their choice of glitter and paint combination. Once registered, you will be contacted via phone or email to let us know the colour combination desired for the Wooden Canvas!
After the sculpting session, there is half an hour of allocated party time. If you would like to change the party time to before the sculpting session or would like more party time, please let us know.
All portraits are to be left in the studio to be baked and arranged on the wooden canvas. Once ready, you will be contacted for pickup. You must pickup all portraits at the same time to be given back to each guest at your discretion!
