Policies

Behaviour Policy:

Children are still learning how to regulate their emotions and may need additional support here and there. Instructors will be compliant in treating all children with an outstanding level of support and compassion at all times. Violence, name-calling or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.  If your child's behaviour drastically interferes with other students ability to learn and create, we will move your child to a safe place in the studio and give you a call to come pick them up.

Misuse of Materials:

Mistakes or accidents may happen and that is why it is important to follow along with the instructor to maintain a safe and happy studio environment for everyone.  With some materials such as Ceramic Clay, it is imperative that the basic "rules" are followed to avoid any mishaps within the studio and kiln. Artists who purposely misuse materials that cause catastrophic damage to another students project, he kiln or it's shelves will be subject to purchasing a new kiln or kiln accessories and be asked to leave with no refund.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy:

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we strive to be flexible when things come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule your event, we are happy to offer one-time rescheduling as long as we are notified 1 hour in advance. No-shows will result in the forfeiture of your event or appointment with no rescheduling offer or refund.

Late Policy:

We understand that things happen prior to your arrival and may affect whether you arrive on time or not. It must be communicated to staff by phone or email regarding your attendance. If you are more than 30 minutes late without notice, your booking will be cancelled and forfeited. Extra time due to tardiness, unless otherwise agreed upon, will be an expense of $35 minimum depending on your booking. Please see our refund policy for any store credit and rescheduling.

Refund Policy:

Due to the nature of business at Clay & Canvas, all payments are non-refundable as the materials required for your visit are purchased and prepared in advance. This policy ensures that we can provide the necessary resources and a seamless experience for all guests. If you are eligible for rescheduling, we will arrange a date and time with you to ensure your event is rebooked at the next available time slot. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

Contact Information:

Clay & Canvas will send out a maximum of 4 emails or text advertising per month and will never spam you for sales and advertising. Please leave a valid email address or phone number for each participant (parties excluded) so we can contact you to rebook a missed appointment, event or for picking up projects.

Artist Attire Required:

There are no aprons available for students and guests. Please wear appropriate  clothing or send your child in clothing that has no significant sentimental value as staining is entirely possible with all materials used. Clay & Canvas is not responsible for any dry cleaning or washing stained clothing.

Guidelines For Creative Freedom:

We encourage all participants to express their creativity and explore their unique artistic vision. While creative control is largely in your hands, it must be exercised within reasonable boundaries to maintain a respectful and positive environment for everyone. This means that while you have the freedom to choose your approach and style, it should align with the studio's guidelines and policies. We ask that all projects and activities respect shared space considerations, safety protocols, and the overall collaborative atmosphere in the studio. Our goal is to foster an environment where creativity can thrive while ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and supported.

Positive Mindset:

We are committed to maintaining a positive and supportive environment for all participants. Negative self-talk is not conducive to personal growth or a welcoming atmosphere. We ask that everyone avoid using negative or self-critical language about themselves or their work. Instead, we encourage constructive feedback and positive self-reflection. If you need support or guidance, please reach out to your instructor. Together, we can create a space where creativity and confidence thrive.

We thank you for your cooperation and adherence to all of our policies to ensure a safe and happy experience for all!
